​Carwatha is a government school, providing for students from Preparatory level through to Year 12 on the one site. The size of the College and the emphasis on developing and maintaining positive relationships means that we know each student as an individual. With 57 nationalities and 62 languages, they need to choose approaches that allow for differentiation.

Carwatha was partnered with a mentor school as part of a DET initiative, they have been working closely together for the last 6months and they are already overwhelmed by the students shift in engagement towards writing, and their overall writing standards.

We’ve certainly seen a change in their writing. They are experimenting more with punctuation and word choice.

Initially I thought it was not going to work with little prep children, but I have been pleasantly surprised.
