Barton Primary School - Cranbourne, Victoria.
‘We needed a framework that wasn’t too prescriptive...The VCOP and Big Write
program was an excellent way to have a consistent approach to writing across the whole school’ The teachers found the PD practical and engaging and have fully embraced the program. Having a structured approach has ensured that student learning is maximised. Andrew Felsinger, Principal from Barton Primary School, explains why they chose Big Write and VCOP for their new PPP school in Cranbourne. |
Newington College - Stanmore, NSW
Newington College Wyvern House chose Big Write and VCOP as a framework to embody a holistic approach to teaching writing from Kindergarten through to Year 6.
“At Wyvern House, we wanted the boys to be even more confident, capable and expressive writers. Big Write seemed to be an ideal way to implement a whole school approach. With the advent of social media and online writing, we know children will need to communicate even more in written forms and the quality of their written communication will be crucial to their success” – Ian Holden, Head of Wyvern House. |
Carwatha P-12 College - Hampton Park, Victoria.
Our students come from 57 Nationalities and between them they speak 62 languages, with no predominant language or culture. We needed something easily differentiated to suit everyone's needs.
We saw writing as something we really wanted to improve. Sheila Horn, Assistant Principal from Carwatha P-12 College Their writing has really surprised us and it’s gone to limits that I can not believe. E.Abraham –P/1 teacher |
It was a privilege to attend the VCOP day at Bordertown which has transformed the way I engage students in writing.
We just had our school Review and students stated that in the last weeks they have learnt that every word they use can transform the meaning of what they write. This is a result of using your methodologies.

They have all got their displays up and we have set out a timetable of how we might roll this out for the rest of the year!
Thanks again for your great PD. It was thoroughly enjoyed by all and many have said it was the most practical PD they have been to!"
