Australian Criterion Scale - Writing Assessment Template
The Australian Criterion Scale- Assessing Writing Template has been created as a separate document to assist with the data tracking of your class cold and warm writing assessments.
As part of the VCOP approach, we encourage data tracking by collecting cold and warm writing assessments five times a year. A suggested assessment schedule is included in this file. This template has been designed to be printed A3 size to allow you to read the marking criteria and mark directly on the template. Each level has been set up to record up to five assessment samples from the designated student, as well as a space for any special considerations taken into account during testing or marking.
Develop consistency and confirmation of writing assessment across your school!
The Australian Criterion Scale is a writing assessment document that can be used to assess any text type produced at a Pre-Writer to end Year 10 ability (marked as Levels F-7 on the scale). This 11-page document includes the complete F-7 scale and a brief overview of 'How to Assess'. The scale is a checklist set up, not a rubric, for ease of use. The scale assesses all writing abilities and has been cross-referenced to align with the Australian Curriculum.
Please note: This document is contained within the Cold Write Assessment Pack. You need not purchase this file if you already have the full assessment pack. However, the stimulus prompts listed in this document to assist with running the assessment schedule can only be found in the full assessment pack.
